Beautiful, huge range and talent in song writing, instrumentation and vocals. Great mix, very rewarding of a listen with the proper equipment.

What if 1990s Alice In Chains and Undertow-Tool had a contest to each create doom-albums to out-doom each other? But then they both liked what the other was doing, so they just decided to combine forces and make one band creating a crushing heaviness not yet seen? Yeah, it’s this album right here. Also, the wah-guitar solo in “High & Rising” is ridiculous and phenomenal. That whole instrumental section is nuts.

The first song opens with huge, downbeat riffs and soaring vocals. Made me think of a few bands I love but rarely listen to. It’s like running a marathon in quicksand.
But then you notice the songs aren’t stuck in one gear, and with the third song the pace picks up and that’s about when you notice just how amazing the vocalist is. He can croon and scream and belt, with power and melody.
There are some slow songs that have a Planet Caravan-esque moodiness that tops everything off perfectly.
